From Our Patients: A Review of Main Line Health NOW

Tina Bruckner of Wayne, PA, had been to urgent care clinics before but never liked the ‘take a number’ mentality. When she needed an appointment and her primary care physician couldn’t fit her in, she turned to Main Line Health Nights or Weekends (NOW) in Broomall. Read her review below.

I recently developed an infection, similar to bronchitis. After an initial appointment with my primary care physician, I was prescribed a 5-day Z-pack regimen.

Later that week, my symptoms were not much better and, my primary physician was unable to see me.   As I live in Wayne, I decided I would give the Broomall NOW office a chance, as I didn’t want to go to the local emergency department and deal with a co-pay, long wait, and exposure to other patients’ sicknesses or expose them to mine.  In the past, I have had experiences at urgent care and retail clinics, but the ‘take a number, we’ll be with you shortly’ mentality wasn’t appealing to me.

After a long work day spent dealing with my symptoms, I knew I needed a solution. I ventured home and looked online to find that the NOW office in Broomall was only 10.4 miles from my house, so I decided to try it out.

When I arrived, there were a couple of patients in the waiting room, and a registrar asking how she could help me.  It was so nice to be greeted with a smile, especially considering how horrible I was feeling at the time. My next step was meeting with the medical assistant, who discussed my basic health history with me as she logged it into their electronic record. Again, I encountered an individual that was obviously competent, friendly and compassionate.

The phrase ‘The doctor will be right with you’ always makes me wish that I had brought a book to catch up on some light reading.  But this time, I wouldn’t have gotten through more than a few paragraphs. Within five minutes, my doctor met me, reviewed my symptoms, examined me, and introduced me to a nebulizer within ten minutes.  AMAZING!  Not only was he thorough; he was pleasant and compassionate, as well.

I had one of the absolute best healthcare experiences in my life at MLH NOW.  I was not expecting the care that I received at this facility.  I was expecting another prescription that would help me over the hump – not medications to help me with all of my symptoms, plus a treatment plan, in a little over an hour’s time.

Main Line Health NOW welcomes walk-in patients, no appointment necessary, on night and weekends when most doctors’ offices aren’t open. For more information, call 484.421.1NOW or visit our website to view our NOW locations.

Wish i had same experience as the previous review of 4.19. The receptionist was really nice; the nurse was really nice, but the doctor was really not listening to me. I told him my ears hurt and 2 minutes later he asked me if I had any ear pain. I told him my throat hurt; he asked me later what my symptoms were. He asked me if I had high blood pressure but i had told him I was on HBP meds. Very disappointing. I wanted to be able to go here after hours because I live in area..but now I am concerned. Maybe if I got another doctor would be ok. Just don't know what kind of doctors are working there. A concern.
